Our Opinion Libya is a struggling nation Libya does not have human rights and is classified poor in human rights by the United States. Libya holds elections but power really resides in a 12 panel revolutionary council which was formed. Members in this council cannot be voted out and had a part in the revolution.

History of Libya Libya was originally made up of three regions in which many tribes lived. The three regions were called Tripolitania, Cyrenaica, and Fezzan. Libyas largest historical event was the introduction of Islam and Arabian influence. First inhabitants of Libya were Berber Tribes. The Ottoman Turks ruled Libya from 1911- 1943.
