When it comes to identity and correlation, we must not get the two confused. Correlation means the relation between two events or variables, so X has an impact on Y. An example can be the more that you run on a treadmill, the more calories you can burn. Although it can also depend how fast you are running or if you are at an incline, we can agree that running more does have an impact on how many calories you can burn. On the other hand, identity has to do with the relation of events in itself only. It is important to learn the difference between the two as correlation is a relation with other variables while identity is unique and only pertains to itself.
