Michelangelo’s image of the hand of God (almost) touching the hand of Adam reminds me of a very famous movie from my childhood— E.T.  The image of the alien’s hand touching the boy’s hand is an unmistakable reference to Michelangelo. In fact, this gesture of touching index fingers was all the rage for a time after the movie came out—a Michelangelo moment in pop culture.
