Physics Lab Report Name: Bala AbubakarTitle: Newton Cradle Experiment Hypothesis: The use of a computer simulation will successfully demonstrate the conservation of momentum and energy. Newton’s Third laws will be observed as stated, for every action thereis an equal and opposite reaction. Gravity accelerates the swinging ball's mass and strikes the other balls with force, thereby creating an action-reaction which cause a ripple effect. The force from the swinging ball is transferred to the next ball all the way through to the last one in line.Overview:This experiment uses a computer simulation software known as Newton’s Cradle. Five weighted balls are suspended from a frame and allowed to swing back & forth along one axis. When one or more balls are allowed for swing freely, the force is transmitted through the stationary balls and transferred to the other balls on the opposite side which create an action and reaction similar to a ripple effect. Observations were recorded and analysed.
