Oracle application server part 2 Managing ASC: to start console process: 1.Change the directory to the bin directory of your OracleAS installation path 2. Start ASC by using the command emctl start iasconsole 3. Access the consoles after specifying the URL in a web browser ASC provides oracleAS farm page, oracleAS instance home page, oracleAS component Advantages of farm page: view, compare, monitory instances on multiple hosts, navigage to the oracleAS home page for each instance, create and manage oracleAS clusters. OracleAS instance home page: general information such as status of OracleAS instance, the hostname, installation type, oracle home location, and associated farm page. oracleAS component home page includes 4 sections: the general section, status section provides CPU and memory usage, OPMN : oracle process management and notification Contents: oracle process manager, oracle notification server, and PM modules Initiates, stops, restarts, and identifies process failures. ONS- transport mechanism that notifies failure, recover, startup in oracleAS ./opmnctl command located in $oracle_home/opmn/bin directory To initiate startup sequence: 1
