Int x[3] = {45, 23, -17}; // produces compilation error Arrays can be passed between methods as if by reference for a name of an array is a reference to that array. Look at end of page 2, example 7.2.9 for array example arrayname.length – to get the size of an array to pass an array argument to a method, specify the name of the array without any brackets vectors are on page 23

What are 3rd generation computers? Used integrated circuits (chips), based on the pioneering work of jack Kilby and Robert Noyce. * Who was Ada Lovelace? The Ada programming language named after Lady Ada Lovelace, daughter of the poet Lord Byron. Developed under the sponsorship of US Department of Defense. Worlds first computer programmer, application wrote in 1800s for the analytical mechanical computing device. Developed programs for Babbage's analytical engine. What is a Turing Test? proposal for a test of a machine 's capability to demonstrate intelligence. Described by Alan Turing in the 1950 paper " Computing Machinery and Intelligence ," it proceeds as follows: a human judge engages in a natural language conversation with one human and one machine, each of which try to appear human; if the judge cannot reliably tell which is which, then the machine is said to pass the test. In order to test the machine's intelligence rather than its ability to render words into audio, the conversation is limited to a text- only channel such as a computer keyboard and screen (Turing originally suggested a teletype machine , one of the few text-only communication systems available in 1950) * How do Babbage's Difference and Analytical Engine differ? Difference Engine was designed to compute polynomials for mathematical tables.
