MA 265 LECTURE NOTES: MONDAY, JANUARY 10 Course Information Instructor. Edray Goins. Office: MATH 612. Extension: 4-1936. E-Mail: [email protected] . Office hours will be Thursdays from 10:00 AM through 12:00 PM. Meeting Times. Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 3:30 PM through 4:20 PM in REC 123. Textbook. We will use Kolman and Hill’s Elementary Linear Algebra with Applications (Ninth Edition) as published by Pearson Prentice Hall (2008); as well as Hill and Zitarelli’s Linear Algebra Labs with MATLAB (Third Edition). However, all lecture notes and other course material will be available at the web site http://homepage.mac.com/ehgoins/ma265/index.html Homework and Quizzes. Homework assignments will be due at the start of Friday’s lecture. Late home- work will not be accepted. The first assignment will be due Friday, January 11. Grading Policy. There will be daily homework and periodic quizzes worth 20% of the grade (100 points), two midterm exams worth 20% each (100 points each), and a final exam worth 40% (200 points).
