James B. Driscoll CWV 101 2/23/20 Matt Hampton Christian Worldview Gospel Essentials Introduction-A View of the World This essay will explain the fundamentals of the Christian worldview and why wisdom and the fear of the Lord are the beginning of knowing God. Worldview is not only how we view the world but is also how we how we look at the different elements of God or Christianity from our point of view. The starting point for our world-story, then, is within God’s creational design which should extend to all sectors of personal and social life. This essay will explain the fundamentals and introduce the components that describe the Christian worldview looked at today. The essay will address the Christian worldview by explaining aspects such as God, humanity, Jesus, restoration, analysis, and reflection. God What is God Like? Our God is just and merciful, jealous, loving, kind, forgiving, but also vindictive and vengeful, also a god of love and compassion. There is only one God; God exists as the trinity. Father, Son and Holy Spirit. “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” (Gen. 1:1, ESV). “Characterized by justice, love, faithfulness, and joy” ( Lubeck, 2010 pg.45), “The biblical testimony is that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are responsible for everything that was created” (Schreiner, 2013).

God is the sovereign creator and “…in creating the world Yahweh shows his sovereignty over all other powers and Gods” (Schreiner, 2013). Christians believe that there is only one God; however, there is the trinity, which is the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This is necessary for the Christian worldview to believe in the trinity, and Paul makes it clear there are no other Gods, everything in existence was made by God the Father and the Son. What is His Creation? God is the creator of all things, but he is distinct from his creation; he is a personal God and cares for what he created and it is idolatrous to worship creation or anything created like people or idols (Diffey, 2013). His creation is amazing, God created light, the heavens, waters, dry land, created the sun and the moon, fish and the birds, created the animals of the land and humans (Genesis 1:1-31, ESV). There was a definite pattern to his creations and when he was
