Contrast the terms atomic mass and atomic number. Atomic mass is the sum of the number of protons and neutrons, basically the mass of the atom. Atomic number is just the number of protons, and unless specified, it is also the number of electrons. 2. What is the difference between the terms atomic mass and atomic weight?
