Agnieszka Wynar Mrs. Mancini AP Literature and Composition 24 March 2009 “A Vindication of the fights of woman” – Mary Wollstonrcraft 1. Wollstonecraft agrees that on the physical level men are stronger than women. Women should fully accept that, however, masculinity that is so dreaded by woman should be first defined to be judged. If masculinity is seen as the physical aspect, for example hunting etc., women should not be expected to do such things because they are physically weaker. On the intellectual level, however, women and men should have the same right to form their masculinity. Women and men have the same kind of brain so why are only men allowed to expand their knowledge and grow as human beings? 2. Wollstonecraft blames both men and women for the society’s attitude toward women because they are both at fault. Men try to make the women into “alluring mistresses” rather “then affectionate wives”. They treat them like lesser human beings; like a pretty picture to look at. Women, however, get used to being treated that way and are lazy to try
