Servin 1 Martha Servin Professor Gustafson ARLT 101g 19 February 2010 A Historical/Neighborhood Scavenger Hunt 1. Doheny Library offers special exhibits on the ground floor of the library. Briefly describe an exhibit on the ground floor of Doheny to be found in either the David Wolper Center or in the lobby area. Interesting Facts The historic Edward L. Doheny Jr. Memorial Library has served as an intellectual center and cultural treasure for generations of students, faculty and staff since it opened in 1932. Created as a memorial to Edward L. Doheny Jr., a USC trustee and alumnus, this landmark building was USC's first freestanding library. Seventy-five years since its doors first opened, it remains one of the university's most important and popular academic facilities. In addition to housing a vast book and journal collection, Doheny also has spaces for studying, collaborative work, and special events. Students often study in the Los Angeles Times Mirror Reference Room or on the ground floor’s Arts Corridor, located conveniently close to Doheny’s tea house, LiteraTea. Featured on the ground floor, lobby area of the library of Doheny Library is The Space Age Hits the Road: Visionary Car Design in America . It features historic photographs of the DiDia 150, the Davis Divan, the Aguirre X- Sonic, and other Jetsons-esque concept and production cars from the 1950s and 1960s.
