Healthy Eating Plan Comparison  2 Several factors contribute to a person’s health. In week one of class, a discovery was made that much improvement could take place to improve my health. Each of the different food groups, along with fat, cholesterol, and sodium had been evaluated. Diet Alterations In week one, it became apparent to me that I needed t o pay attention to certain areas of my diet opposed to others. One of my main concerns was my level of sodium. In my first assessment, I had consumed more than double amount recommended by the USDA. The recommended amount was less than 2,300 mgs and I had consumed 5847.1 mgs. I completely stopped using any type of salt and the creole seasoning. I began using garlic powder, pepper, and lemon pepper instead. I have realized that even though spices and condiments make foods taste better to me, the items generally add a large amount of extra sodium to a person’s diet that takes consumption to unhealthy levels.

I began drinking at least a gallon of water a day. Not only did the excessive water consumption lower my
