The area of the memo that addresses to, from, date, and subject should all be in all capital letters. This area of the document should be on the same page as the body of the memo. The font style and size were different in the memo than the academic paper. Another difference between a memo and an academic paper is the line spacing. An academic paper should be double-spaced and a memo is single spaced; except between paragraphs and headings. The section headers of a memo should be on the left of each section in bold lettering.
