Ryan Maroney Final Reflection My service learning experience at the Waltham Boys and Girls Club was very fun for me as well as a quality learning experience. I really looked forward to seeing the children because they were always excited to see us there and had a lot of energy. Not only did I contribute my time, but I also contributed my friendship with the children. I felt as though by the end of the semester, they looked at me as more than a volunteer but as a friend. I took the time and attention to getting to know the children instead of just helping them with their homework while they were in the room. During the two hours at the Club, I would walk around a lot to make sure I was helping as many children as I can. The children commonly found the same Bentley student each week so people naturally fell into small groups. However, I was more inclined to talk to each of those smaller groups so all the children knew my name and could ask me for help. I felt a sense of connection because I am also one who would rather play basketball than
