Sasha Preston Period 4 Ch. 30 & 31 Free Response Questions 1. Reproduction in nonvascular plants and flowering plants are very similar and different in many ways. One method or process in reproduction in plants is alternation of generations, which is when each generation of either sporophytes and gametophytes gives rise to the other. There are multiple ways 2 gametes of a plant can come together. The most known way gamete formation occurs is pollination. Pollination occurs through wind, insects, bats, or birds. Another way gametes can come together is seed dispersal. Seed dispersal happens mostly during spring through water, wind, or animals. Most bryophytes (or non vascular plants), are different from flowering plants because many of them disperse their gametes through seed dispersal. 2a. Plant hormones are a key role in the control of growth of a plant over time as well as regulating many aspects of said plant. The main hormone that increases height in plants is Auxin, also known as AA. Auxin increases height by producing hydrolytic enzymes to create
