Assignment 1 Part 2 This report is being written in response to using Stata to view the dataset pertaining to Global Terrorism. Global Terrorism Database v 1.1, 1970-1997 was used for this report. Using Stata to count the number of terrorist events yielded a count of 61637 events in the database. These events are in a wide range from small to large and cover an extended time period.The describe command in Stata was used to look at the variables; CITY, IMONTH, SUCCESS, TYPE, NKILL Using the describe command appears to be useful in seeing what type of variables it is, in these examples we could see if it was an integer or a string. Also the variable label itself provided more information than the shorthand for the variable. Using the summarize command with wounded and killed terrorists I was able to learn a few important things. Summarize shows the total number of observations as well as the Mean, Std Deviation and the maximum values for the variable. I found it interesting when looking at
