Abstract: In this report I am going to write about our project. Our project is to design and build a catapult. Therefore, I and my friends in my group have to get together to design it. After we build our catapult, we are going to do some calculations. We are going to calculate the potential energy and kinetic energy. After we get the values for the potential energy and kinetic energy, we are going to figure out the energy efficiency. The main purpose of doing these calculations is that we want to find out the potential energy in the springs transform into kinetic energy in the arm and the ball. Introduction: I take introduction to engineering class this semester. In addition, I have five projects that I have to do in this class. I started working on the first project which is catapult project. I think most of us have heard about catapult. When we watch historic movies, we see these catapults in the movies or when we read old stories, the authors mention catapults in stories. However, catapult is a kind of weapon that the ancient people used to use in battles and when they fight against each other. They use catapult to attack their enemies. Catapult was helpful for them and it helps to break into castles. Furthermore, the first use of catapult was by Greeks and Chinese then by Roman. After ancient period, technology developed catapult and made it better. The catapult consists of a ball, box to hold the ball, stick connected with box, two other vertical stick
