Sheriff Lester Burdon is a married man who finds himself falling for Kathy and become obsessed with helping her get her house back. The Behrani family moves in to the house after they bought it at the auction for only 45,000 dollars. Colonel Behrani is struggling and decides to fix the house up and sell it for a huge profit. Kathy and Lester take this obsession of getting their house back that they both end up in jail. Preparatory- “Beyond myself somewhere I wait for my arrival”. –From the Balcony The novel is in first person point of view. It switches from Kathy’s to colonel Behrani point of view every chapter.
