By persuading him to go to the hospital she proves how a woman can be supportive and stand without a man’s help. She has an occasion to persuade another boy who killed a young man to come back to her farm. During this conflict, she follows her moral code with her bravery. At the end of her years in Africa, her farm goes bankrupt, and she relocates native squatters who have lived on her farm. This conflict helps her to develop a sense of responsibility. Conflict is a pivotal element in the autobiography, Out of Africa , and the conflicts shape Dinesen’s sense of independence, courage, and responsibility helping her to become a better person.
