Hi, I am here to inform you guys about most well-know genetic disorder, hemophilia. Hemophilia is a genetic disease which a patient lacks of the blood clotting proteins. Pictures on the board might help you to understand it. Only males suffer from such disorder while women carry it to their male children. There are 2 major different types, type A and type B. Most people have type A, about 85% of the patients. Type A and type B is different in the ways that type A results from lack of blood clotting protein, factor VIII while type B results from lack of factor IX. Its effects range from mild to harsh primarily due to how many blood clotting factor are missing. The disorder occurs not only in humans, but also in other animals like mice. There are about 20000 sufferers from it in the states, and every year, about 400 babies are born with it. I will give you a short description how come it is only found among males.
