My name is Jacky Kyle We are here to talk about how the biodiversity changed after Hurricane Katrina hit Mississippi Jacky Mississippi is located between Louisiana and Alabama, and above the Gulf of Mexico. Moisture from Gulf of Mexico has contributed for the biodiversity of Mississippi. Kyle Also, warm temperature has provided adequate habitats for many organisms, especially during winters, keeping temperature around 11C. Jacky As it is shown in the picture, Mississippi has many different forests and those are rich in biodiversity. Kyle Many plants live in Mississippi, such as long leaf pine trees, oak trees, and cypress. Jacky However, there is one introduced species called cogongrass that can potentially harm the biodiversity of Mississippi. Kyle It does not have a predator, so it has prospered somewhat since it introduced Mississippi. Jacky There are also many animals such as a red- cockaded woodpecker, gopher tortoise, wood duck, bluegill, fox squirrels, and southern bark
