The chlorophyll absorbed the most light at the lower wavelengths (around 400-480 nm) and at 660nm. The colors corresponding to these wavelengths that were absorbed best are purple, blue, and red. The chlorophyll absorbed the least amount of light at wavelengths ranging from 500-640 nm. These wavelengths that were least absorbed correspond to the colors green and yellow. 3. The Rf index is a measure of the distance that a pigment can be absorbed and dragged by a solvent. The heavier the pigment or the less soluble it is in the particular solvent used, the smaller its Rf index will be.
