INTRODUCTION Attention Getter: Narrative about my first time backpacking Audience Motivation: Backpacking is a great way to get exercise, take a break from our busy lives, and experience nature in a whole new way. Credibility: Both my parents have backpacked for many years, and I have been on 6 backpacking trips in various places throughout America. Purpose: Introduce the audience to backpacking; give them the general knowledge they need to plan their own backpacking trip. Preview: Focus on two exceedingly important things that can make or break a backpacking trip- the weight/contents of the backpack, and location of the trip.
