Communication and Theory of Mind are two factors essential for successful interactions among three year old children. C. I would choose a similar topic that also deals with Theory of mind and possibly about social interactions as well. To improve this study I would use a larger sample group, which would consist other ages as well, not only three year olds. I would also change the experimenter’s criteria for “social success.” Rather than see how much a single child interacts with a person in a 10 minute interval, I would compare one age group’s total average social interaction with another age group and observe that difference. I would also try to use a more equal amount of boys and girls,

The original experiment had 6 boys and 3 girls; this could have easily affected the results since boys’ and girls’ social interactions and play vary dramatically during this age. Some results I would need to consider when designing this research are the operational definitions of what social success is, along with how to measure Theory of Mind in each child, and each age group.
