Matthew Otto Otto 1 WRT 102.55 Ms. Josephs Ad Analysis September 21, 2007 Sprint ahead Advertisement’s sole purpose is to sell their product and make a profit. It is this motivation which drives a company to target a specific audience while manipulating or directing that audience’s ideas and perception into believing that their product it better than any other out their on the market. In this Sprint cellular phone advertisement, a lot of aspects are included in the ad which entices and induces a particular audience into buying their product. This ad is effective because its play on words and football orientation induces the broad football media into believing that Sprint phones are now available to the public, “it’s not just for football anymore.” The visual part of the ad is very simplistic, but effective. The new, sleek cell phone is illustrated with a football player, #51 Jonathan Vilma, which makes a connection with the phone and football in general.
