There is a big distinction between the 100 pound propane tank and the 100 gallon propane tank. A 100 gallon propane tank is a great deal bigger than the 100 pound propane tank. Even though this tank can very well be filled to the top up with 100 gallons of propane, filling this kind of propane tank to capacity is prohibited. It is illegal to have these tanks be filled to more than 80% of the capacity, or more than 80 gallons of propane, due to safety reasons. Shopping for a 100 gallon propane tank online is usually an awkward process. A lot of people buy tanks by getting in touch with propane companies. However, a number of people will even buy their tanks from craigslist. However, the best option would probably be to call local propane companies to check if they have anything. This is something you can easily do and still get a cheaper tank. Most likely the price for a 100 gallon tank will be less than $100.
