Concert Report II The second concert that I’ve decided to visit was located at Stony Brook University, Staller Center named “Sounds for all seasons”. It was the piano performance by Christina Dahl and Xak Bjerken. It took place in the Recital Hall. It was my second time visiting this place, so I was familiar with a setting. The stage that was close to the sitting area had two pianos and four chairs on it. The auditorium was about half filled with people of different ages and genders. The public was dressed casually. The aura was noisy at the beginning when people were getting comfortable in their seats while having small conversations among themselves. When the lights were dimmed, everybody got quiet and the atmosphere became peaceful. Four people came on the stage and set paired up next to pianos. Christina Dahl and Xak Bjerken had one boy and one girl each who were turning the pages of sheet music for them. “Variations on a Theme of Joseph Haydn Opus 56b” was the first piece presented to the audience. It was composed by Johannes Brahms. It was a lengthy piece; both pianists were playing the
