Administrative stuff First exam is in a week and a half (Wed 2/10)! No homework till now so you can concentrate on ALEKS But now there will be a rush for the exam. . Quest Homework One available https://quest.cns.utexas.edu / Due 5 pm next Fri (2/5) We haven’t covered everything on the homework yet Quest homework is on topics not covered by ALEKS Includes some topics from assumed knowledge Administrative stuff Sample Exam 1 will be available on Quest next week Sample exam is not counted toward your grade, but doing them will be considered if you are near a gradebreak Sample exam answers available Mon 2/8 ALEKS course Objective One already available (due 2/12) Start early if you’ve got your 70% prep ALEKS done. Email me for access code. I will give it in class next Wed. Each ALEKS homework is a set of topics covered in class. For full credit, complete 70% topics by the due date. Where are we? Energy is quantized Electromagnetic radiation has particle nature (photons) Wave-particle duality of light and matter The electron’s mass means that electrons wave and particle natures need to both be considered Each element has a unique and characteristic atomic emission spectrum.
