During the time of Colonial America the British had a steady rule over the Americans. Many violations of rights were being committed such as trial with out a jury, limited trade, legislation such as the navigation acts, sugar act, stamp act, taxation with out representation, quartering of soldiers in the homes of civilians. There was also many cases of harassment and murder, also many instances of search and seizure occurred
