Finance 6335 Spring 2010 You have two choices for your project: I. Financial Statement Analysis 1. Choose a company to analyze. 2. Obtain the financial statements for your company for years 2007 and 2008 (or 2006 and 2007). Calculate the major financial ratios (ie. Several in each of the categories: liquidity, asset management, debt management, profitability and market value). Information may be found through company websites, Valueline, or Bloomberg, for example. 3. Once you complete your analysis, write a memo to your “manager” explaining the financial strengths and weaknesses of your company. The analysis should be no more than two pages double-spaced.

Based on Chapter 5 in your textbook, use one of the methods such as dividend discount model to value your company. Be sure to identify how you determined the various characteristics of the model chosen. 3. Once you complete your analysis, write an executive summary for a prospective investor.
