Module 3 Discussion Board Christen Double When designing my preschool classroom, there were many safety features that I had to keep in mind. One of the most important was in regards to there being enough space for the children to play and do activities with one another. This is because it is recommended that there be “adequate space to move around the equipment and not have to compete for space with other children” (Robertson, 2010). For this reason, I chose to put a large rug in the center of the classroom that the children could use for fun and creative play. I think it’s important that children have ample amount of room to play and move about freely. Creating an open environment is a crucial safety feature and can overall help prevent injury and falls. Additional safety features I implemented in my preschool classroom are in regards to the positioning of the windows, tables, and playhouse area. It’s important that windows are not positioned near tables because it creates a huge safety risk (Robertson, 2010). Therefore I
