2 Why This Course ? Law of unintended consequence: Invention of one technology has a profound and unexpected effort on other seemingly unrelated technologies. Do you agree with this phenomenon for computer software? Most of the things that we use today have computer controls (transportation, communication, business …etc). Thus, it is difficult to imagine today’s world without computers and associated software. As computer scientist / engineers, it is important to understand how to develop software products timely manner with less errors.

3 Skills that We Need to Develop Irrespective of the discipline, one should have a reasonably good understanding of how computers work and how to develop solutions to real world problems using computers. Problem analysis, design solutions, and implement them. In this course, we use Java (one of the most widely used languages) to implement our solutions.
