Curtice 1 Ryan Curtice Disorders The wide variation in symptoms in children with autism is the reason for the idea of autism spectrum disorder. Every child with an autism spectrum disorder has his or her own personal pattern of autism. These disorders affect social interaction, communication, and repetitive behaviors and or interests. There are many communication problems that may be affected for example not being able to start or maintain a social conversation. Social interaction can be affected different ways for instance preferring to be alone instead of being with others. ASD can have several affects on behavior like using repetitive body movements. The spectrum ranges from severe cases called autistic disorder to more moderate cases called Aspergers syndrome. There is no current cure for these disorders but treatments involve medication and a variety of therapies. Autism seems to be on the rise and from the website webmd it states that in the United States two to six children out of every 1000 are affected. I don’t know the true reason
