PHYS2002 – Section 4 Spring 2009 Instructor: Dr. Asoka Sekharan Lecture : Section 4: 12:10 – 1:30 PM, T & TH Lecture Room : 130 Nicholson Hall Office Hours : 9:30-10:30 AM, Every weekday Office : 217-A Nicholson Ph: 334-2031 E-Mail: [email protected] Required Text : Physics , by Cutnell, and Johnson, 7th Ed., LSU customized version, Vol. 2 Class: This course covers chapters 18 through 32 of the text (Ch. 23 and 28 will not be covered). You are required to read and know the assigned textbook material before coming to class . YOU MUST attend the lectures! The concepts and problem solving will be developed through the readings, lectures, demonstrations and class discussion. Lecture notes, old exams, and other information will be periodically posted to Webassign. Quizzes: Quizzes will be given in lecture everyday using an electronic response system (see clicker below). Therefore, you need to attend class and read the assigned material. Your 3 lowest quiz scores in lecture will be dropped at the end of the semester. Homework: Homework assignments will be done online at the following website: http://webassign.net/student.html Use the first part of your PAWS ID as the ‘login ID’ and ‘hello’ as the password Example: [email protected] ; ‘asoka’ is the login ID and ‘hello’ is the password If you purchase the textbook above, your Webassign code will come bundled with it.
