Unformatted text preview: Introduction The main goal of this project was to fully investigate the formation of kidney stones and suggest ways to dissolve or prevent them. In order to determine how to prevent kidney stone formation, several artificial kidney stones were synthesized in lab. After the kidney stones were made, their characteristics were determined through multiple tests. The team devised ways to dissolve the kidney stones using the solubility rules and carried out the different methods to determine which kidney stone dissolving method worked best. Three of these dissolving methods used chemicals from lab, and one used a homemade remedy. The team also performed ion tests to be certain that the stones are composed solely of the expected anions and cations.
