IBM Software Group | DB2 Information Management Software Case Study: West Corporation ± West is a telemarketing company. There are 3 divisions - Inbound, Outbound, and Interactive. ± The Interactive Division answers phone calls for its clients using VRU's (Voice Response Units) and does automated call processing ± 100,000 calls tracked each day and 100,000,000 rows inserted each day into the VRU data warehouse (DB2 partitioned – 21 nodes on Linux) ± Some of the enterprise data is stored in Informix (IDS) and Microsoft SQL Server ¾ Need to extend the data warehouse with non-DB2 data in order to provide a unified view of the enterprise information for reporting purposes ± Currently running 60,000 federated queries per day (20 concurrent users)
