GROUP 3 FINAL PROJECT 2 Abstract The System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) is a type of structured analysis and there are five stages. Each stage is critical in the development and maintenance of software. The five stages are: Systems Planning, System Analysis, System Design, System Implementation, and Systems Support and Security. The stages should be done in order and done completely to ensure a smooth project development cycle. We will focus on the components of each phase as they apply to a new system for an independent, small-town business known as Pizza Palace. We will consider the usage of CASE tools, which stands for Computer Aided Software Engineering, and how they can contribute positively to a project lifecycle. Summary This summary is a profile of a new business model, for an existing Pizza Palace Company. The goal of the profile is to create a system for tracking customer food orders. Currently the pizzeria manually totals daily receipts to track the quantity of pizzas and breadsticks that were sold. With the new system, the pizzeria will be able to view a report at the end of each day of all pizza and breadstick sales. Currently, the pizzeria does not keep track of customers, and the new system will be able to track regular customers. Tracking regular customers will allow the business to periodically send coupons to their regular customers as incentives. Pizza Palace wants to keep the following information about their customers: Customer Name, Address, City, State and Zip code, Phone Number, and optionally e-mail address. Currently, when a customer calls in an order, the customer is asked for their phone number and
GROUP 3 FINAL PROJECT 3 address. It is envisioned with the new system that the customer will provide their phone number and if they are an existing customer, the pizzeria will already have their address. Currently, when a customer walks in, they are not asked for any personal information. It is envisioned with the new system that the customer will be asked for their phone number, but if the customer refuses, then the order is placed without any customer information. Currently the system they are using only records orders for pizza and Buffalo chicken wings. Buffalo chicken wings can be BBQ, mild, hot, or global thermonuclear and are sold Dozens. The Pizzas have four basic sizes, 6-inch, 10-inch, 14-inch and 16-inch A pizza can be red or white with up to 5 toppings (mushroom, pepper, onion, broccoli, sun-dried tomatoes, eggplant, zucchini, pepperoni, sausage, meatball, ham, bacon, pineapple, ricotta, and olives).
