Goran Krstevski 07:10:04 WINDOWS XP AND SQL SERVER 2005 INSTALLATION This is the user documentation in which I will outline and describe all steps and processes that I had undertaken to successfully install Windows XP Professional and Windows SQL Server 2005. Windows XP Professional installation I will install Windows XP Professional using the CD provided by my teacher. First thing that needs to be done is to switch on the computer. Insert the CD into the CD drive. When Setup process start, press F2 so the Phoenix BIOS Setup Utility shows up on the screen. Go to Boot Device Priority and press Enter Note: If the CD-Rom drive is not No.1 in the priority list, make it so by using up or down arrows keys ( ) and Enter. Then use + to change Boot priority. Press F10 to save it to be default priority. Computer boots up automatically. When prompted “Press any key”, press any as requested. Blue Setup screen appears on the monitor and on the bottom on the screen, we can see different applications loading and setting up. Next, Windows XP Professional Setup window shows up. This portion of the setup prepares Microsoft Windows XP Professional to run up the installation on our computer with the following options. To set up Windows XP now, press ENTER To repair a Windows XP installation using Recovery Console, press R Press ENTER to continue. Next window shows up Windows XP Licensing Agreement. Goran Krstevski 07:10:04 Next window give us an option to partition the computer Hard Drive by giving us existing partitions and unpartitioned space on the computer. To set up Windows XP on the selected item (HD) press ENTER. Next window inform us that the installation of the Windows XP will be on the selected partition “C” and if this is correct, press ‘C’ or otherwise ESC. Press ‘C’ Next step is to format the partition using the NTFS System file (Quick) method. ENTER to continue. To format the drive press ‘F’
