0614-440 Ethical Decision Making Class Presentations The purpose of this exercise is for you to gain experience with the investigation and analysis of ethical problems. In two-person teams, you will discuss some actual incident which involves a choice among courses of action that raise serious ethical issues. The incident should preferably be taken from one of your real-life experiences. However, if you have none, then please research a good topic. Each team will distribute to the class and instructor a one-page summary of the incident to disclose the facts and context of the incident. You may change the names to protect the guilty. Each team will also be expected to make a joint oral presentation to the class of the facts and context, the relevant ethical principles involved, their analysis of major harms and benefits in light of these principles, and their proposed resolution(s), including a defense of why they chose that resolution. This should be completed in about 5 minutes. The team should then be prepared to answer questions and defend their proposed resolution in response to challenges from their classmates.
