    Definition of critical evaluation “Critical evaluation is about proving a point, interpreting  information and resolving problems.  The ability to make  informed judgements or evaluations about the worth, validity,  validity and reliability of opinions, ideas and knowledge crucial in  this process”   (Halpern cited in Griffith Graduate Project, 2004: 1). Direct critical evaluation of authors used in  research is a requirement specific to  Australian (and other western) universities.
