01.28.10 Categorization -We categorize all the time! -Ex: grocery store → -meat: diff animals, diff cuts, diff parts, diff nutritional value... -ethnic food: sub categories like Asian -milk: central type (whole), other types require more language (1%, fat free, chocolate, soy) -Multiple frames to categorize -These frames tell you how to categorize -Within a category there are better (more prototypical) examples than others -ex: English muffins in bread section -Branding is an attempt to make something a better example -when you say “milk” a “basic level category” you see an image -“chocolate milk” is a “sub level category” you see an image -“drinks” is a “superordinate category” and you don't get a mental image -superordinate category: very general frame -to see an image you must tap into the sensory motor system Classical Categories Aristotle: categories of the mind fit the cats of the world -in logic you have a predication (John is tall) there's a relationship between predication and the categories

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
