Process 2-3: Constant temperature to saturated vapor with W 23 = -11.82 Btu. Process 3-1: Adiabatic expansion. Sketch the cycle on p-v and T-v diagrams. Neglecting kinetic and potential energy effects, determine the net work for the cycle and the heat transfer for each process, all in Btu. Question 2 (MS 3.84) : As shown in the figure below, 0.5 kg of ammonia is contained in a piston- cylinder assembly, initially at T 1 = -20°C and a quality of 25%. As the ammonia is slowly heated to a final state, where T 2 = 20°C, p 2 = 0.6 MPa, its pressure varies linearly with specific volume. There are no significant kinetic and potential energy effects.
