Quiz 3 ECE450 (30 points) April 24, 2009 Friday A four-element array is arranged in the way shown in the figure below. The notation for the four individual elements can be thought of as indicating the phasing of the current being fed to each element (e.g., a phase angle of 0 for the elements pointing in the +z direction, a phase angle of 180 for the elements pointing in the -z direction). If all elements in the array are Hertzian dipoles, please find (either a mathematical expression of a diagram will do): a) The group pattern of the four elements in the x-z plane; b) The group pattern of the four elements in the x-y plane; c) The resultant pattern, considering the unit pattern of the Hertzian dipole, in the x-y plane.
