Week 3 CRT210 Checkpoint: Argument Credibility What claims are being made and by who? The claim is that Rodney Alcala murdered 4 women between November 1977 and June 1979. The Los Angeles County District Attorneys Office gathered enough evidence to take Alcala to trial. After an hours worth of deliberation the jury recommended that Alcala be put to death for all 4 murders. Do the claims conflict with your observations? According to what I read, the prosecutors had everything they needed to convict Alcala of this heinous crime. In 1968 he was convicted of rape on an 8 year old little which leads me to believe that the claims are true and fact. What background knowledge do you have about the claims? I was able to google this case and came up with multiple sites as resources. Alcala was known for his episode on “The Dating Game”, he actually won. The contestant that picked him noted that she found him “creepy” and decided against the date. Most of what was said in the article
