1. You now have your first job as an Electrical Engineer and sure enough, the boss comes in and gives you your first assignment -- in statistics of course. It turns out that a sample of 5 resistors were taken off the assembly line and tested -- the resistances were found to be 95, 110, 120, 110 and 100 ohms. a. Find the standard deviation of the sample. Show your work. b. Estimate the standard deviation of the entire population of resistors. Show your work. c. Explain the reason that the two answers in (a) and (b) are different. Remember, your boss is smart, but she never took ECE 3800! d. Assuming the resistances are Gaussian distributed, find the probability that the next resistor taken as a sample would be less than 100 ohms.
