Chap 24 By David lambert The first essay brought up many different points and I agreed with most of them. The first thing that Truman talked about was the man power and work hours that went into building this bomb; tens of thousands of workers and scientists came together to make something that they didn’t even know what it was. Next he talks about the message that he wants to send to Japan. We already know that they chose death over capture and that invading the island of Japan would cost millions of American lives. Truman wants to destroy their ability to make war because he knows that if he doesn’t they will literally fight until everyone is dead on that island. Next, he discusses that this bomb creates a new era because it is so dangerous. He wants the congress to develop a team that will control the output and production of these weapons so that they do not get into the wrong hands. Next, Christian century talks about the immorality of us dropping the bomb on the Japanese. They
