Roosevelt and British Prime Minister Winston Churchill from December, 1941 to January, 1942, to agree war strategy. ÿ Second Washington Conference : meeting between Roosevelt and Churchill in June 1942, that prioritised North African landings. ÿ Third Washington Conference (code named TRIDENT): meeting between Roosevelt and Churchill between in May 1943, to plan Italian Campaign, air attacks on Germany and war in Pacific. Good Neighbor Policy - help the latin american countries rather than treating them like little brothers Neutrality Act of 1935 Roosevelt's State Department had lobbied for embargo provisions that would allow the President to impose sanctions selectively. This was rejected by Congress. The 1935 act, signed on August 31, 1935, imposed a general embargo on trading in arms and war materials with all parties in a war. It also declared that American citizens traveling on warring ships traveled at their own risk. The act was set to expire after six months. Roosevelt invoked the act after Italy's invasion of Ethiopia in October 1935, preventing all arms and ammunition shipments to both countries. He also declared a "moral embargo" against the belligerents, covering trade not falling under the Neutrality Act. [3] Lend-Lease Plan- gave brittain our bullets and tanks and such but made them return it at the end of the war. War Production Board - was established as a government agency on January 16, 1942 by executive order of Franklin D. Roosevelt . things as gasoline, heating oil, metals, rubber, paper [1] and plastics. It was dissolved shortly after the defeat of Japan in 1945. The first chairman of the Board was Donald M. Nelson from 1942 to 1944 followed by Julius A. Krug from 1944 until the Board was dissolved. Teheran Conference- was the meeting of Joseph Stalin , Franklin D. Roosevelt and Winston Churchill between November 28 and December 1 , 1943 , most of which were held at the Soviet Embassy in Tehran , Iran . It was the first World War II conference among the Big Three (the Soviet Union , the United States , and the United Kingdom ) in which Stalin was present. It succeeded the Cairo Conference and was followed by the Yalta Conference and Potsdam Conference . The chief discussio n was centered on the opening of a second front in Western Europe.
