Drug use and addiction have become a major challenge amongst many people across the world. Its effects are far-reaching across all races, populations segments, institutions of learning amongst many others. Some of these effects include school dropouts amongst youths and children, economic unproductivity, violence, misuse of family resources, depression amongst many more challenges. As a result, serious measures have been taken by the various governments and the international community to prevent and combat the drug and substance abuse menace. Some of these prevention measures have been enshrined by law, others are mitigation measures taken at the grassroots, health and learning institutions alongside international guidelines.
