Nicolle Lopez Nyja Clayter Estefania Zepeda Esme Miramon Background Information More students are attending college now than ever before. In 2019, there were over 20 million students enrolled in public and private colleges alone. College students are facing financial insecurities now more than ever. Establishing financial security among students involves making use of the resources, capabilities, and institutional support that enables students to sustain themselves, thrive and move up the income ladder. Without reliable assets such as cash savings, needy college students may be able to manage to survive day-to-day but will be unable to cope with emergencies or invest in a better future. California State University Los Angeles (CSULA) has even begun to implement programs to help students. Such as the food Pantry located in the University Student Union. Colleges across the globe are also implementing similar programs to provide help. However, there is still more to do concerning providing more support.
