From homework 2 we saw that the power transfer is 600MW with no compensation. Add a TCSC, with a capacitive reactance of 10.0ohm (at 60Hz) and an inductance of 8.0mH. Determine to transfer 800 MW. Determine TCR current and peak capacitor voltage when P12=800MW. Repeat for P12= 750MW BUS 1 |V V LL at BUS 2 j60 ohm |V 2 |= 345kV LL at -17.605 o Compensator Problem 2: For the system given, we want to increase power transfer from Bus 1 to Bus to 700 MW by adding a SSSC. The SSSC is controlled to inject a capacitive series voltage. If the SSSC is connected through a 4:1 transformer, with a leakage reactance of 0.1 p.u., determine the MVA, voltage and current supplied by the SSSC. The transformer is rated at 60 MVA and 5 kV (on the low voltage side facing the VSC)....
